Solo founder post

After launching 18 months ago Bean Ninjas continues to build a strong brand and business, and from 7 December 2016, Meryl Johnston will assume full control of the business as the sole founder. This will mean business as usual for existing staff and clients.

“Ultimately we decided that we had different goals and were following different paths. It was better for us to separate amicably than to go down a path of disputes and unhappiness. It will be sad to see to see Ben go, and at the same time this is an exciting time for our business.”, shared Johnston.

Together Meryl Johnston and Ben McAdam built Bean Ninjas into a profitable subscription bookkeeping service, with a recognisable brand and a community of almost 100 clients. Bean Ninjas continues to grow 10% month-on-month.

After 18 months together Ben is transitioning out of the business, and over the past 2 months has been handing over his responsibilities to Meryl. Ben will continue on as a contractor for another 3 months to ensure a smooth transition.

Ben will then take time off to be with his family and is considering travel mid next year. In the short term, Ben will also continue his tax practice McAdam and Co, which currently provides Australian tax and virtual CFO services for online businesses.

According to Ben, “it’s been an incredible journey working on Bean Ninjas, and I know the business will continue doing well with Meryl and the existing team. I’m looking forward to the next chapter for both of us.”
